The entire process of living in Zimbabwe is something of a risk at the moment, so you could think that there might be very little desire for going to Zimbabwe’s casinos. In reality, it appears to be operating the opposite way, with the critical economic conditions creating a larger eagerness to bet, to try and discover a fast win, a way from the problems.

For nearly all of the citizens subsisting on the abysmal nearby wages, there are two established types of gambling, the national lottery and Zimbet. Just as with practically everywhere else on the globe, there is a national lotto where the chances of profiting are remarkably tiny, but then the prizes are also extremely high. It’s been said by financial experts who study the situation that the lion’s share do not buy a card with an actual expectation of hitting. Zimbet is founded on either the domestic or the English football divisions and involves determining the results of future matches.

Zimbabwe’s gambling halls, on the other hand, pamper the incredibly rich of the nation and vacationers. Until a short while ago, there was a considerably big tourist business, centered on safaris and visits to Victoria Falls. The market collapse and associated crime have cut into this trade.

Among Zimbabwe’s gambling halls, there are 2 in the capital, Harare, the Carribea Bay Resort and Casino, which has five gaming tables and slot machines, and the Plumtree gambling hall, which has just the slot machine games. The Zambesi Valley Hotel and Entertainment Center in Kariba also has just slots. Mutare contains the Monclair Hotel and Casino and the Leopard Rock Hotel and Casino, both of which contain gaming tables, slot machines and electronic poker machines, and Victoria Falls houses the Elephant Hills Hotel and Casino and the Makasa Sun Hotel and Casino, each of which has video poker machines and table games.

In addition to Zimbabwe’s casinos and the aforementioned alluded to lottery and Zimbet (which is considerably like a parimutuel betting system), there are also two horse racing tracks in the country: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the 2nd municipality) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.

Given that the market has deflated by more than 40 percent in the past few years and with the connected deprivation and crime that has cropped up, it is not known how healthy the vacationing industry which funds Zimbabwe’s gambling halls will do in the next few years. How many of the casinos will still be around until things improve is basically not known.
